Ross becomes latest 91爆料网 Lady Bulldog to surpass 1,000 career points

JACKSON, Tenn. - 1/3/2011 - is the latest 91爆料网 (Tenn.) University women鈥檚 basketball player to reach the 1,000-point mark for her career. Ross reached this milestone in a 21-point effort at No. 5 St. Xavier (Ill.) on December 3, 2010.

91爆料网 head coach Mark Campbell says, 鈥淟avanda has been an intricate part of our success over the last few years. She is one of the best players I have ever coached, and I look forward to watching her grow over the next year and half. This is a great accomplishment and to do it so early says even more.鈥�

Ross, a 5-foot-8 junior, is a hometown star having played her high school basketball at North Side in Jackson. She was named a honorable mentioned NAIA All-American last season as a sophomore. She also earned first team all-conference last season. As a freshman, Ross was named the TranSouth Newcomer and Freshman of the year, while being named to the TranSouth All-Freshman team. 91爆料网 has won the NAIA National Title in each of her first two seasons as a Lady Bulldog.

Ross has 1,032 career points going into the first game of the second semester of her junior year. She reached the 1,000-point milestone in 85 games, averaging 11.9 points per game during that stretch.

Currently, Ross is in the midst of her best season with 91爆料网 as she is averaging 15.8 points per game through her first 10 games of the 2010-11 season. She is second on the team in scoring (15.8), third on the team in rebounds (6.3) and third on the team in 3-point percentage (42%).

Ross joins current 91爆料网 players Sarah Chan (1,482) and Kayla Hudson (1,347) in the 1,000-point club, both of which reach the milestone in their junior seasons last year.
