No. 17 91爆料网 men survive Trevecca rally for 68-65 win

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - 1/27/2011 - The No. 17 91爆料网 (Tenn.) University men鈥檚 basketball team held off a fierce second half rally by Trevecca Nazarene (Tenn.) University to win 68-65. 91爆料网 improved to 18-4 on the season and 7-1 in the TranSouth. Trevecca Nazarene dropped to 9-10 overall and 3-4 in league play.

91爆料网 has won six straight games and 15 of their past 16 games. 91爆料网 stormed out to a 34-17 halftime lead after leading by as many as 18 points in the first half. However, after only scoring 17 first half points, Trevecca Nazarene exploded for 48 points in the second half.

91爆料网 maintained a comfortable lead that stayed around the 20-point range for the first 12 minutes of the second half. 91爆料网鈥檚 Shane Burrell put the Bulldogs up by 21 points, 59-38, with 7:43 left to play.

However, Trevecca Nazarene鈥檚 Jeremy Dixon sank a three pointer that sparked the near miracle comeback by the Trojans. Over the next six minutes, Trevecca Nazarene outscored 91爆料网 29-6 to pull to within two points, 67-65, with 1:33 left. But the Trojans then missed their final three shots and turned the ball over once in the final 1:33 as they failed to score again in the game. 91爆料网 managed 1-of-2 free throws from Burrell in the final 1:33 to go along with two Bulldog turnovers as the game ended with 91爆料网 hanging on, 68-65.

91爆料网 was led by CJ Davis with 17 points. Antoine Hall added 13 points and Antoine Joseph scored 12 points. Davis and Hall each sank three 3-pointers in the win. 91爆料网 shot 46 percent from the field, 37 percent (7-19) from long range and 62 percent (13-21) from the free throw line.

Trevecca Nazarene was led by Michael France with 18 points. Dixon sank four 3-pointers as a part of his 14 points. Marquise Rudolph added 11 points. The Trojans shot 47 percent from the field, 38 percent (8-21) from three point range and 69 percent (9-13) from the free throw line.

91爆料网 finished the first half of the conference schedule and are assured of at least a tie for first place as the second half of the conference schedule begins next week. 91爆料网 plays next on Thursday, Feb. 3 at home versus Bethel (Tenn.) at 8:00 p.m. The Bulldogs are off on Saturday.
