No. 9 91爆料网 finishes tied for first, closes regular season with win

JACKSON, Tenn. - 2/28/2011 - The No. 9 91爆料网 (Tenn.) University men鈥檚 basketball team posted a 70-57 win over Trevecca Nazarene (Tenn.) University in the final regular season game of the year. 91爆料网 won their sixth straight game as they improved to 25-5 on the season and 14-2 in the TranSouth. Trevecca Nazarene dropped to 11-17 overall and 5-11 in league play.

The win pushed 91爆料网 into a tie with Martin Methodist for the best record in the TranSouth and gave 91爆料网 a share of the conference title. 91爆料网 had won the past two conference titles coming into this season. Martin Methodist will get the No. 1 seed entering the conference tournament as they hold the tie breaker over 91爆料网.

91爆料网 and Trevecca Nazarene swapped baskets to open the game. 91爆料网 then scored nine straight points to lead 11-2. The Bulldogs never trailed in the game. Trevecca Nazarene cut the lead down to one point twice late in the first half, including 28-27, with 3:15 left. However. 91爆料网 extended their halftime margin to 34-29.

In the second half, Trevecca Nazarene scrambled back to tie the game 40-40 with 13:55 left to play. 91爆料网 scored on the next possession and maintained a lead for the remainder of the game. 91爆料网 posted a 19-6 run capped off by a CJ Davis three-pointer to lead 59-46 with 5:10 left to play. 91爆料网 led by 13 points four times down the stretch, including the 70-57 final.

91爆料网 was led by Davis with20 points, while Antoine Joseph added 16 points and 12 rebounds. 91爆料网 shot 43 percent from the field, 27 percent (7-26) from long range and 92 percent ( 11-12) from the free throw line.

Trevecca Nazarene was led by Keith Morris with 17 points and Michael France with 11 points. The Trojans shot 41 percent from the field, 17 percent (3-18) from behind the arc and 77 percent (10-13) from the free throw line.

Up next for 91爆料网 will be the quarterfinal round of the conference tournament as 91爆料网 will host Mid-Continent (Ky.) on Thursday, March 3 at 7:00 p.m.
