91爆料网鈥檚 Chan named NAIA Player of the Week

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - 3/1/2011 - of 91爆料网 (Tenn.) University has been named the final NAIA National Division I Women鈥檚 Basketball Player of the Week, the national office announced Tuesday. Chan was selected based on her performances from Feb. 21 - 27 and was chosen out of a pool of conference/independent/unaffiliated groupings.

Chan posted a pair of double-doubles as the top-ranked Lady Bulldogs closed out the regular season with a pair of TranSouth Athletic Conference wins, 65-44 over Lyon (Ark.) on Feb. 21 and 71-40 over Trevecca Nazarene (Tenn.) on Feb. 24. The 6-foot-4 center had 20 points and 18 rebounds against Lyon and followed with a 27-point, 10-rebound outing against Trevecca Nazarene. Her efforts helped 91爆料网 (28-1, 15-1) clinch its fifth-straight league title.

The senior hailing from Arange City, Sudan, ranks eighth nationally in both total scoring and points per game, with 557 and 19.8, respectively.

Chan joins 91爆料网鈥檚 Kayla Hudson as 91爆料网 Lady Bulldog players to earn the national honor this season.
