JACKSON, Tenn. - 3/8/2011 - The No. 16 91±¬ÁÏÍø (Tenn.) University baseball team posted an 11-1 win over MacMurray (Ill.) College on Tuesday at Fesmire Field. 91±¬ÁÏÍø improved to 16-2 on the season, while MacMurray dropped to 0-1 overall.
91±¬ÁÏÍø jumped on top with four runs in the first and two more in the second to lead 6-0. The big blow in the first came from Oscar Depablos' RBI double. Cole McAdams, the reigning TranSouth Player of the Week, and Kian Jost also recorded RBI in the inning. And RBI triple from Clint Barnes and another RBI from Jost highlighted the second inning. 91±¬ÁÏÍø added runs in the fourth, fifth and six innings to win the game run-ruled game.
Kevin Kirksey (3-0) earned the win, tossing three innings of scoreless ball with three strikeouts and one hit. Derek Rook and Justin Bryan combined for four innings of successful relief.
Offensively, 91±¬ÁÏÍø was led by Jost with three hits in four at-bats. He added two RBI and two runs scored. Barnes, Depablos and Danny Grimm also added two RBI each.
Up next for 91±¬ÁÏÍø will be a weekend non-conference series against Oklahoma Wesleyan on Friday and Saturday.
