JACKSON, Tenn. - 5/21/2011 - The 91±¬ÁÏÍø (Tenn.) University softball team placed four players on the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-Region team. Tobie Joy was named to the East Region first team, while Shelby Lamb, Amber Hayes and Keaton Kirk earned second team honors.
Joy hit .366 on the season with 40 runs, nine doubles and seven steals. Lamb hit .416 with team highs of 10 home runs and 55 RBI. Hayes hit a team high .439 with eight home runs and 53 RBI. Kirk was 12-5 with one save on the season with a 2.11 ERA in 116 innings pitched.
All four of these player were named first team all-conference performers recently. 91±¬ÁÏÍø softball posted a 41-15 record on the season and a 24-6 mark in the TranSouth. 91±¬ÁÏÍø finished runner-up in both the regular season and conference tournament. Of the 15 losses for 91±¬ÁÏÍø, 11 were to teams who finished the season in the top-10. 91±¬ÁÏÍø's 41 wins was the most since 2005 (45). The 15 losses were the fewest since 2003 (13).
