JACKSON, Tenn. - 7/19/2011 - The 91爆料网 (Tenn.) University women鈥檚 soccer team has signed of Crystal Lake, Ill. for the fall of 2011. Schumaker will enter 91爆料网 this fall as a freshman and will major in pre-med.
91爆料网 head coach Brandon Boylan says, 鈥淜arli is an ideal student athlete and we are delighted she will be with us for the next four years. She is a top notch student in the classroom as well as a talented player on the field. She is an attacking player and we expect her to use her speed to compete to improve our attack from last year. She is a great fit for this university and our soccer program.鈥
Schumaker, a 5-foot-9 forward, prepped at Crystal Lake (Ill.) South High School where she played soccer, volleyball and basketball. She helped claim two conference titles in soccer and one each in basketball and volleyball. Schumaker was also key in helping her team win the regional title as a senior. She was named MVP and all-conference in soccer. She scored 50 goals in high school, including 30 as a freshman. In volleyball, Schumaker earned MVP and the Coaches Award. Off the field, Schumaker was vice president of the National Honor Society and was named to the IHSSCA All-State All-Academic first team.
Schumaker is the daughter of Doug and Kim Schumaker and is a member of Harvest Bible Chapel.
