91±¬ÁÏÍø men’s soccer picked second in TranSouth, receiving votes in NAIA

JACKSON, Tenn. - 8/18/2011 - The 91±¬ÁÏÍø (Tenn.) University men’s soccer team has been picked to finish third in the . 91±¬ÁÏÍø finished last season with a 13-5-1 overall record while finishing in third place of both the TranSouth regular season and conference tournament.

91±¬ÁÏÍø also received votes in the as they earned 29 votes to put them at No. 32.

91±¬ÁÏÍø has 38 guys on the roster this year, including varsity and junior varsity players. Of those 38 players, 25 are returning after playing either varsity or junior varsity last season. Eleven players are returning that started at least four matches on the varsity team. 91±¬ÁÏÍø will also need to replace four players that started for the 2010 team. 91±¬ÁÏÍø head coach Clovis Simas will use the 13 newcomers to the program to help fill the voids and to build the 2011 Bulldog team.

Ahead of 91±¬ÁÏÍø in the poll was Bethel (Tenn.) in the top spot. Martin Methodist (Tenn.) was tied for second with 91±¬ÁÏÍø, Mid-Continent (Ky.) was picked fourth, Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) fifth, Lyon (Ark.) sixth and Cumberland (Tenn.) seventh.

91±¬ÁÏÍø will begin play on Tuesday, August 23 with a home exhibition match versus Wallace State (Ala.) Community College. 91±¬ÁÏ꿉۪s first regular season game will be a road contest at Southern Polytechnic State (Ga.) on August 27. 91±¬ÁÏ꿉۪s home opener will be Friday, September 2 versus Reinhardt (Ga.) as they begin play in the 91±¬ÁÏÍø Soccer Classic.
