91爆料网 men鈥檚 soccer drops second straight

JACKSON, Tenn. - 9/3/2011 - The 91爆料网 (Tenn.) University men鈥檚 soccer team dropped their second straight contest as they lost 4-0 to Notre Dame (Ohio) College. 91爆料网 dropped to 1-3 on the season, while Notre Dame improved to 2-0.

Notre Dame finished last season as the NAIA National Tournament runner-up and ranked No. 2 in the NAIA after an undefeated regular season. That was Notre Dame鈥檚 final NAIA season as they are now in the provision stage of the NCAA DII membership process. 91爆料网 is playing in the final NAIA season this year.

Notre Dame scored two quick goals to start the match, both coming on headers. Erik Beattie recorded both goals, the first coming in the seventh minute and the second goal just five minutes later. Then with two minutes remaining in the half, Notre Dame added a third goal from Colton Tanner. Phillip Cutler and Kerr Newsbigging each recorded assists in the half. 91爆料网 trailed 3-0 at the break.

In the second half, Notre Dame鈥檚 Beattie got the hat trick with his third goal of the match just five minutes into the second half.

91爆料网 was outshot 18-8 in the match, including 11-4 in shots on goal.

91爆料网鈥檚 James Landham recorded six saves in the match, while Notre Dame鈥檚 Jan Skorupinski had two saves in his shutout effort.

Up next for 91爆料网 will be a road game on Tuesday, September 6 at Christian Brothers (Tenn.).
