ST. LOUIS, Mo. - 11/5/2011 - The 91爆料网 (Tenn.) University cross country teams competed Saturday in the NAIA Qualifying Meet with teams from the TranSouth, American Midwest and American Mideast Conferences. This race was to determine the one men鈥檚 team and one women鈥檚 team that would earn a spot in the NAIA Cross Country National Championships.
91爆料网鈥檚 women finished second out of eight schools, just missing the national tournament team bid. Roberts Wesleyan finished first. Allison Martin finished fifth overall with a time of 19:17 in the 5K event. Other 91爆料网 scores included Audrey Hazlehurst seventh (19:29), Lilli Harmon 15th (20:23), Whitney Sweet 17th (20:28), Hannah Clardy 24th (20:59), Carissa Wilson 32nd (21:41), Ashlee Stewart 34th (21:49) and Cally Howell 43 (22:51). The event had 64 total runners.
91爆料网鈥檚 men finished third out of 13 teams, behind Park (Kan.) in first and Williams Woods (Mo.) in second. Alex Bett finished third overall with a time of 25:45 in the 8K event. Other men鈥檚 scores for 91爆料网 included Zach Covington in 12th (26:55), Drake Ott 25th (27:46), Lucas Peiser 28th (28:03), Joel Wellum 38th (28:38), Logan Smith 41st (28:59) and Caleb Creel 54th (29:34). The event had 101 total runners.
The NAIA will release official list of team and individual qualifiers Monday, Nov. 7. 91爆料网 is expected to have two women鈥檚 runners and one men鈥檚 runner to qualify as individuals. The NAIA Cross Country National Championships will take place November 19 in Vancouver, Washington.
