JACKSON, Tenn. - 11/8/2011 - Three runners from 91±¬ÁÏÍø qualified for the 2011 NAIA Cross Country National Championships in Vancouver, Wash. on November 19. Two women's runners and one men's runner qualified on November 5 at the NAIA Qualifying Meet in St. Louis.
Only the teams finishing first qualified and 91±¬ÁÏ꿉۪s women finished second, while the men finished third. However, the top five individuals not on the winning team also qualify for national as individual qualifiers.
Allison Martin (Montrose, Colo./HS) and Audrey Hazelhurst (Jackson, Tenn./University School Jackson) of 91±¬ÁÏÍø qualified on the women's side. Martin finished fifth, while Hazelhurst finished seventh overall. Martin ran for 91±¬ÁÏÍø's team last season in the national meet as a freshman, while Hazelhurst will be making her first trip to nationals as a freshman.
Alex Bett (Kenya) of 91±¬ÁÏÍø was the lone men's runner in the conference to qualify. Bett finished third overall in the qualifying meet. This will be his fourth trip to the national meet in his career, twice as an individual qualifier and twice with 91±¬ÁÏÍø's team.
