JACKSON, Tenn. - 4/21/2012 - The 91爆料网 baseball team posted a double-header sweep Friday at Fesmire Field over Indiana University-Southeast. 91爆料网 won game one 8-1 and took game two 7-1 on a rain-shortened five inning game. 91爆料网 improved to 28-16-1 on the season, while Indiana-Southeast dropped to 23-22.

91爆料网 trailed both games 1-0 before responding with eight unanswered runs in the first game and seven unanswered in the second game.

In the first game, Will Irvin (7-2) earned the win in a complete game effort, giving up one run and six hits and striking out four hitters. Jacob Holtz received the loss giving six earned runs on 10 hits.

After Indian-Southeast scored in the top of the first, 91爆料网 responded in a big way in the bottom half of the frame. Doug Joyce hit a 3-run home run over the left field wall to give 91爆料网 a 3-1 lead. 91爆料网 added two more runs in the inning. 91爆料网 scored three times in the fourth to cruise to the win.

Joyce finished the game going 1-for-2 with a sacrifice fly and four RBI.

The second game started with a quick first inning, followed by a 50-minute rain delay. After the rain delay, the game reached the top of the sixth inning before the rain set in for good, forcing the game to be called after five innings.

Jared Davis (2-5) earned the win for 91爆料网 giving up only one run and striking out seven. For Indiana Southeast, Drew Evans received the loss giving up five earned runs in the game.

With 91爆料网 leading 2-1, the Bulldogs batted around in the bottom of the fifth, scoring five times. In the bottom of the fifth 91爆料网 got four hits, including a two RBI single from RJ Rayborn and a RBI triple from Kody Pinson.

The same two teams will face each other again Saturday in a double-header at 91爆料网 starting at noon.
