No. 12 91爆料网 softball opens national tournament with 6-0 win

GULF SHORES, Ala. - 5/17/2012 - The No. 12 91爆料网 softball team posted a 6-0 win over Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) College Thursday in the first day of the NAIA Softball National Championships.

91爆料网 is playing in Pool E and is 1-0 after the first day. 91爆料网 will face Indiana-Southeast Friday at 6:00 p.m. and will close out pool play Saturday with a 3:30 p.m. game versus Lubbock Christian (Texas). The pool winner will advance to the eight-team double-elimination tournament starting Monday.

91爆料网 (46-10) earned the win behind the pitching of junior Huntingdon native, Brooke Thomas (24-6). Thomas tossed 6.2 innings, allowing no runs on two hits with six strikeouts. Kelly Robey pitched to and struck out the final batter of the game.

Katie Davis of 91爆料网 homered to lead off the second inning and put 91爆料网 up 1-0. Shelby Lamb homered in the third as 91爆料网 jumped out to a 3-0 lead. 91爆料网 scored three more times in the fifth to seal the victory.
