91±¬ÁÏÍø Soccer Clinches Spot in TranSouth Tournament

Jackson, Tenn. - 10/21/2003 - On senior night at the 91±¬ÁÏÍø soccer field, the Bulldog of 91±¬ÁÏÍø earned a 4-0 victory over Lyon College. This, their 10th win of the year, clinches a spot in the TranSouth Conference Tournament on November 4. In the TranSouth Conference, only the top 6 teams in the final standings are awarded a spot in the tournament. On the season, 91±¬ÁÏÍø improves to 10-4-2 overall and 3-3-1 in the conference. Lyon falls to 8-8 overall and 2-3 in league play.

91±¬ÁÏÍø scored first on a goal by Redzi Stojiljkovic in the second minute of the game assisted by Fabio Buarque. For Stojiljkovic, this was his second game winning goal of the season. Buarque added a goal in the 20th minute to put 91±¬ÁÏÍø up 2-0. 91±¬ÁÏÍø led by that same score of 2-0 at halftime. In the second half, 91±¬ÁÏÍø added a goal each from Marko Pavlovic and Stephen Goodin. Pablo Paredes recorded the assists on Goodin's goal.

91±¬ÁÏÍø outshot Lyon 13-1 in the game. Robert Stinson, 91±¬ÁÏÍø's sophomore goalie, recored his fifth shut-out of the season. He tallied one save on the one shot he faced. Brent Hugg for Lyon recorded four saves on the night.

The Bulldogs have completed their conference schedule, however, several teams still have games to play in the league. 91±¬ÁÏÍø could finish as the fifth or sixth seed in the TranSouth Conference Tournament.
