OLATHE, Kan. - 1/20/2004 - 91±¬ÁÏÍø junior forward has received her second honor of the day as she has been named the NAIA National Player of the Week. Earlier this Tuesday morning, Clark was named the TranSouth Conference Player of the Week. Clark helped lead the No. 3 ranked Lady Bulldogs to a perfect 3-0 week, including two more TranSouth Conference wins. 91±¬ÁÏÍø is now 17-1 overall and 5-0 in league play.
Clark, a 6-foot-2 forward from Artesia, New Mexico, averaged a double-double in her three games last week by scoring 20.7 points and grabbing 10.3 rebounds. In addition, Clark added four steals, four blocks, and three assists to her stats. She shot 66% (27-41) from the field and 80% (8-10) from the free throw line. Clark posted her best game of the week in a win at No. 21 Berry College when she scored 26 points and tallied 18 rebounds. In the win at Lee University, Clark posted 18 points in 19 minutes of play. Earlier in the week, Clark scored 18 points in the win over Lambuth.
On the season, Clark has been 91±¬ÁÏÍø's leader since joining the team after Christmas. In her seven games, she is 91±¬ÁÏÍø leader in points and rebounds, averaging 18.7 points and 8.1 boards per game. Clark has helped fill the void left by injured three-time NAIA All-American Jessica Henson.
91±¬ÁÏÍø currently sits atop the TranSouth Conference with a 5-0 mark. Freed-Hardeman University and 91±¬ÁÏÍø's next opponent, Trevecca Nazarene University also have perfect conference records. On Thursday night, January 22, 91±¬ÁÏÍø will host No. 18 Trevecca Nazarene (10-4; TranSouth 4-0) at 6:00 p.m. The men's game will follow at about 8:00 p.m.
