JACKSON, Tenn. - 3/29/2004 - The No. 5 ranked Lady Bulldogs of 91±¬ÁÏÍø swept Trevecca Nazarene University in a TranSouth Conference double header at 91±¬ÁÏÍø's Fesmire Field on Monday. 91±¬ÁÏÍø took the first game 2-1 and prevailed in the nightcap 4-2. The Lady Bulldogs improve to 25-4 on the season and 5-1 in the conference. Trevecca Nazarene falls to 13-7 overall and 3-5 in the TranSouth.
A two-out, two-RBI double by senior shortstop Amy Mejia drove in the only two runs for 91±¬ÁÏÍø. That game winning hit came in the bottom of the sixth inning to give 91±¬ÁÏÍø the come-from-behind win. 91±¬ÁÏÍø has trailed for the entire game after giving up an unearned run in the top of the first inning. Leah Gronberg for 91±¬ÁÏÍø improved her record to 14-1 on the year with a two-hit, complete game performance giving up just the one unearned run.
In game two, it was Mejia again leading the charge with a 2-for-3 performance with an RBI and run scored. 91±¬ÁÏÍø never trailed in game two as sophomore pitcher Mary Kosco improved to 11-3 on the season.
