JACKSON, Tenn. - 5/18/2004 - and , both of Milan, Tennessee, have signed to play their college golf for 91±¬ÁÏÍø. Both Floyd and Cannon will enter 91±¬ÁÏÍø this fall as freshmen after graduating from Milan High School this May.
Floyd, at 6-foot-4 and 170 lbs., played two sports while at Milan including basketball and golf. This year as a senior, he was named All-State and All-West Tennessee while finishing third in the state. Floyd posted the lowest team average in each his sophomore, junior, and senior seasons. As a freshman, Floyd was named Most Improved. Floyd has a 1.2 handicap.
Cannon is a 5-foot-11, 135 lb golfer with a 2.0 handicap. He was named Most Improved as a sophomore while finishing fourth in the district. As a senior, Cannon finished second in the district and was named a Who’s Who in Sports, was ranked in the Top 15 in the state, and was named to the All-State and All-West Tennessee teams.
Milan High School golf enjoyed success with the leadership of these two players. During the four year careers of Floyd and Cannon, Milan won District Championships in 2001 and 2003. Milan also captured the region championship in 2003.
