91±¬ÁÏÍø Soccer Moves to 2-0 on Season with Win

JACKSON, Tenn. - 8/27/2004 - The 91±¬ÁÏÍø soccer team earned their second straight one-goal victory to start the season as they defeated St. Gregory's University (Okla.) 2-1. 91±¬ÁÏÍø improves to 2-0 on the season.

The Bulldogs scored first in the 20th minuted on a goal by Freshman Michael Pugh with the assist going to sophomore Gareth Munro. The goal would stand as the halftime score. However, St. Gregory's tied the game with a goal early in the second half. St. Gregory's had the opportunity to take the lead on a penalty kick, but a save by 91±¬ÁÏÍø goalie Brian Hamilton preserved the tie. Then in the 84th minute, Gareth Munro scored on a penalty kick for his second game winning goal of the season. Looking back, Munro scored the winning goal in the double-overtime win over Lambuth.

In the early game, Lambuth defeated Reinhardt 6-1. 91±¬ÁÏÍø will play again in the Jackson College Soccer Challenge on Saturday at 12:00 noon versus Reinhardt.
