OLATHE, Kan. - 12/14/2004 - In this, the second NAIA regular season basketball poll of the season, the 91±¬ÁÏÍø Bulldogs jumped three spots to No. 15 in the NAIA’s Top-25 rankings. 91±¬ÁÏÍø is currently 10-3 on the season. Meanwhile, the Lady Bulldogs of 91±¬ÁÏÍø remained No. 1 in the nation with their unblemished 13-0 record. 91±¬ÁÏÍø again gained all 12 first place votes.
Both teams are done for this semester; however, each team will have tough road games awaiting them on the other side of the Christmas break. The men will travel to Beckley, West Virginia on January 8 to play the defending NAIA National Champion and current No. 2 ranked team in the nation. Mountain State is sitting at 14-1 on the year and this will mark the first of two games with Mountain State this season for the Bulldogs.
The Lady Bulldogs will travel to No. 24 North Georgia on January 4 for their first game after the break. 91±¬ÁÏÍø and North Georgia have already played once this season with 91±¬ÁÏÍø taking that game 89-68 at 91±¬ÁÏÍø.
The first home games for 91±¬ÁÏÍø after Christmas will be a double-header Thursday, January 13 with three of the four teams ranked in their respective polls. The Lady Bulldogs will play Campbellsville University (Ky.) at 5:00 pm. Campbellsville is normally ranked but is off to a slow start this season. The men will face No. 6 Georgetown College (Ky.) in a rematch game from earlier this season at 7:00 pm. Georgetown defeated 91±¬ÁÏÍø 81-65 at Georgetown in the second game of the season.
Both the Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs will open their 2005 TranSouth Conference season on Thursday, January 20 at home when they host Trevecca Nazarene at 6 and 8 pm.
