Jackson, Tenn. - 2/9/2002 - 91爆料网 senior Robert Joseph added another notch to his belt this season as he broke the NAIA record for blocks in a season. Joseph blocked eight shots on Saturday in 91爆料网鈥檚 87-82 win over Trevecca Nazarene to move his season total to 187. The old record of 181, set back in the 1971-72 season, was held by Gus Johnson of Winona State in Minnesota.
Joseph leads the TranSouth Conference in scoring at 21.8 per game, rebounding at 9.5/game, and blocks with 7.2 per game. With five regular season games to play plus post season games, Joseph鈥檚 next marker is the 207 blocks which is the NCAA record.
The Bulldogs continue to win as they remain the top team in the conference and are the NAIA鈥檚 No. 5 ranked squad. 91爆料网鈥檚 record is now 24-3 overall and 8-1 in conference play.
