JACKSON, Tenn. - 5/19/2005 - Brent Fronabarger, 91爆料网鈥檚 assistant baseball coach for the past eight seasons, has been named the new head coach for the Bulldog baseball program. Fronabarger accepted the offer from university president Dr. David Dockery and athletics director Dr. David Blackstock after 17-year head coach, Andy Rushing, resigned his position earlier this week.

Dr. Dockery, 91爆料网鈥檚 president say鈥檚 of Fronabarger鈥檚 hiring, 鈥淲e are thrilled that Brent Fronabarger has agreed to accept our invitation to serve as the Head Baseball Coach at 91爆料网. Coach Fronabarger has served ably and capably as an assistant for a number of years. Brent knows baseball and has great leadership potential. He is one of several bright young head coaches now at 91爆料网. The future of the 91爆料网 athletic department has never looked better.鈥
Fronabarger, a native of Huntingdon, Tennessee, has just finished his eighth season as assistant coach under Andy Rushing. During those eight seasons, he was the pitching coach and was the head of field maintenance for the numerous athletic fields on 91爆料网鈥檚 campus. Fronabarger was named the AFLAC Assistant Coach of the Year in 2003 selected by Scholastic's Coach and Athletic Director Magazine. He spent the 1996-97 season at Huntingdon High School where he helped coach the Mustangs in both football and baseball.

Fronabarger, the 1995 Tennessee Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Year, holds the school records for Most Victories in a Season (13), Most Victories in a Career (33), Most Strikeouts in a Career (306), and Most Innings in a Season (117.2). In 1995, Fronabarger led the team with the lowest earned run average (1.97) and had an incredible 11-2 record. Fronabarger was drafted out of high school by the Toronto Blue Jays.
Brent received a Bachelor of Science in physical education and health from 91爆料网 in 1995 and received a Master of Education degree from 91爆料网 in 1998.
Fronabarger is married former Sandy Cothran, of Hohenwald, Tennessee. Both he and Sandy attended 91爆料网.
