Two 91爆料网 Softball Players Named Louisville Slugger/NFCA All-Americans

JACKSON, Tenn. - 6/10/2005 - Danielle Pope of Phoenix, Arizona and Holly Haycraft of Dyersburg, Tennessee continue to rack up post season softball honors. Pope was named a first team All-American by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) sponsored by Louisville Slugger. Haycraft was a second team selection. These honors come on the heels of both players being named NAIA First Team all-Americans.

, a 6-foot-0 first baseman from Phoenix, Arizona, received this honor following her NAIA All-American, NAIA Region XI Player of the Year award, and her first team All-Region and All-Conference selections. This season, Pope set a new record for homeruns in a season at 91爆料网 with 14. She led 91爆料网 with a .423 average, 80 hits, 14 homeruns, 64 RBI, a .714 slugging percentage, and a .477 on-base percentage. Pope also posted 13 doubles and 22 walks on the season, both good for second on the team.

, a 5-foot-6 outfielder from Dyersburg, Tennessee adds this All-American honor to her NAIA first team All-American, All-Region, and All-Conference selections. Haycraft also was named an NAIA Scholar Athlete. On the season, she hit .379 and had 55 bases in 59 attempts on the season. She is 91爆料网鈥檚 career stolen base leader with 140 through her first three seasons. Haycraft broke the old record of 63 career steals early in her sophomore season. This season鈥檚 55 stolen bases is her career high and a new team record for stolen bases in a season.

In addition to the NFCA All-American selections, Pope and Haycraft join fellow 91爆料网 teammates and ">Mary Kosco on the NFCA East All-Region Team.

91爆料网 finished the 2005 season with a 45-16 record. The Lady Bulldogs advanced to their fifth NAIA Softball National Championship in the past six seasons and also won their fourth NAIA Region XI Tournament Title in five seasons.
