JACKSON, Tenn. - 7/14/2005 - , a native of Covington, Tennessee, has signed to play his college baseball with the Bulldogs of 91爆料网. Williams, a 2005 graduate of Covington High School, will join 91爆料网 this fall as a freshman.
Williams, a 6-foot-1 180 lb. catcher, was a three sport star at Covington including baseball, football, and basketball. He was a three year starter in baseball for former 91爆料网 Bulldog and Covington Head Coach Genus Miller. Williams helped lead his 2003 football and baseball teams to a state runner-up finishes. In baseball, Williams was named All-Region as a junior. During his senior season, he was named All-District, All-District Tournament, All-Region, Best of the Preps, and Athlete of the Year. Williams was named the All-Region football team three times in addition to being named team captain and All-State as a senior. He was a three year starter for the football team under Coach Jake Linville. Williams is the all-time leading passer in Covington history. He also led the team in attempts, completions, and passing yards.
91爆料网鈥檚 head baseball coach Brent Fronabarger says of Williams, 鈥淎llen is a strong defensive catcher that can also play the outfield and has good offensive skills.鈥 Fronabarger adds, 鈥淗e will play a lot as a freshman as he gives us great depth at both positions because of his athletic ability.
