JACKSON, Tenn. - 10/4/2005 - The 91±¬ÁÏÍø volleyball team remained in a tie for first in the TranSouth Conference with a 3-0 (30-15, 30-17, 30-23) win over Trevecca Nazarene University. 91±¬ÁÏÍø improved to 11-5 overall and are 3-1 in the TranSouth. Trevecca Nazerene falls to 5-12 overall and 1-5 in league play. With the win, 91±¬ÁÏÍø remains tied with Martin Methodist for first place with identical 3-1 league records.
91±¬ÁÏÍø didn't waste anytime in getting back on the winning track as they quickly topped the Lady Trojans in three games. 91±¬ÁÏÍø took an early lead of 9-2 in the first game. In the second game, 91±¬ÁÏÍø led by as many as 20 points when the score reached 22-2. Trevecca Nazarene rallied back in that second game with 15 points, but didn't get any closer. In the final game, 91±¬ÁÏÍø and Trevecca Nazarene went back and forth for most of the game, until 91±¬ÁÏÍø pulled away late.
Up next for 91±¬ÁÏÍø will be a key showdown with Freed-Hardeman University. 91±¬ÁÏÍø hosts the Lady Lions on Thursday at 7:00 pm.
