Cross Sets New 91爆料网 Women鈥檚 Cross Country Record; Posts Highest Finish for 91爆料网 in National Meet

JACKSON, Tenn. - 11/21/2005 - , a sophomore cross country runner from Lebanon, Tennessee set a new record for the 91爆料网 Women鈥檚 Cross Country program. Cross, participating in her first ever NAIA National Cross Country Championships as an individual qualifier, posted a time of 19:18 in the 5-K race.

This record time for Cross broke the old record of 19:27 held by former 91爆料网 and Trinity Christian Academy standout Janelle Royer Campbell since 2003. Also for Cross, the 95th place finish in the national tournament was the highest national finish for a 91爆料网 cross country runner in men鈥檚 or women鈥檚 competition. The 2005 NAIA Women鈥檚 Cross Country National Championship had 259 participants.

Cross, a 5-foot-4 sophomore prepped at Friendship Christian Academy in Lebanon where she ran track and played softball. Earlier this year, Cross was named the TranSouth Conference Runner of the Year as she placed first in the TranSouth Cross Country Meet. She also recorded a first place finish in the Lambuth Cross Country Invitational. She also plays softball for 91爆料网 as she finished the season in 2005 as the starting shortstop.
