JACKSON, Tenn. - 1/26/2006 - The Lady Bulldogs of 91±¬ÁÏÍø posted a dominating 100-46 win over Lyon College (Ark.) at Thursday night. 91±¬ÁÏÍø, ranked No. 6 in the NAIA, improved to 15-4 on the season and 2-1 in league play. Lyon, who just last Saturday upset No. 7 Cumberland University, fell to 9-11 overall and 1-2 in conference play.
In the second half on Saturday versus Blue Mountain and the first half of this game versus Lyon, 91±¬ÁÏÍø combined to outscore their opponents 107-34. 91±¬ÁÏÍø's 55-point first half performace versus Lyon was the best start to a game since Nov. 17 this season when 91±¬ÁÏÍø put up 60 points on then No. 3 Oklahoma Christian. 91±¬ÁÏÍø led 55-17 at the half. 91±¬ÁÏÍø shot 56 percent from the field, including 60 percent (9-15) from behind the arc in the first half. In the second half, it was much of the same as 91±¬ÁÏÍø added 45 more points to stretch the final to 100-46.
91±¬ÁÏÍø was led with six players in double figures. Merideth Richardson seemed to break out of her slump with a 19-point effort to lead 91±¬ÁÏÍø. She sank 6-of-9 three pointers in the game. 91±¬ÁÏÍø's other sharp shooting sophomore, Crystal Eason added 15 points on 5-of-7 shooting form behind the arc.
Lyon was led by Orma Fisher with 12 ponts.
91±¬ÁÏÍø plays next on the road this Saturay at No. 11 Cumberland University at 2:00 pm in Lebanon, Tennessee.
