91爆料网 Softball Sweeps Lambuth in Double-Header

JACKSON, Tenn. - 3/7/2006 - The 91爆料网 softball team earned two more wins as they swept the Lambuth University Lady Eagles on Tuesday 6-1 and 1-0 at 91爆料网's Fesmire Field. 91爆料网 improved to 9-3 on the season and have won seven of eight games. Lambuth dropped to 6-8 on the season.

In the first game, Lambuth jumped on top in the first inning with a run on a wild pitch by 91爆料网's Mary Kosco (4-2). After that, Lambuth was held scoreless for the rest of the evening. 91爆料网 added one run each in the bottom of the second and third innings, and two runs each in the bottom of the fourth and fifth innings to take a commanding 6-1 lead. Kosco, for the second time in four days, recorded 15 strikeouts. Her 15 strikeouts was just one shy of the 91爆料网 record of 16 K's in a game. 91爆料网's Danielle Pope, in her first game back from an injury, hit her first home run of the season. Pope set a 91爆料网 record for home runs in a season last year with 14.

In game two, 91爆料网 scored a run in the bottom of the third inning. Amy Chatham led off with a double and then scored on a one out single by Candace Cross. 91爆料网's Chrissa Norton (3-0) earned the win as she tossed seven innings of two-hit ball while recording seven strikeouts.

Up next for 91爆料网 will be the 91爆料网 Invitation this weekend March 10 - 11.
