91±¬ÁÏÍø Baseball Posts Record Setting 22-4 Win at Bethel

JACKSON, Tenn. - 4/20/2006 - The 91±¬ÁÏÍø baseball team set three school records in a 22-4 win at Bethel College (Tenn.). The 91±¬ÁÏÍø Bulldogs hit 12 doubles, slapped 26 hits, and posted 45 total bases, all of which are new team records. 91±¬ÁÏÍø's 12 runs in the fifth inning fell just one run shy of another record.

91±¬ÁÏÍø was led by junior Jason Cooper who was 4-for-6 on the day with three doubles, a homerun, and four RBI. Jud Powers also went 4-for-6 with five RBI and one homerun. James Brasfield continued his hot hitting on a 3-for-5 day with four RBI, a double, and a homerun.

In the game, seven different players for 91±¬ÁÏÍø hit at least one double.

91±¬ÁÏÍø's Ben Ayris (4-2) earned the win by tossing five innings, allowing three runs on six hits.

Up next for 91±¬ÁÏÍø will be a key TranSouth Conference series versus Cumberland University (Tenn.) Currently, Cumberland is tops in the league standings with a 10-2 mark, while 91±¬ÁÏÍø sits in third, just two games back at 8-4.
