91爆料网 Men Play NAIA No. 7 Mid-Continent to a Tie

JACKSON, Tenn. - 9/26/2006 - The 91爆料网 men's soccer team and the seventh ranked Mid-Continent University (Ky.) Cougars played to a 1-1 tie in a double overtime match on 91爆料网's campus Tuesday afternoon.

With the tie, 91爆料网's record moves to 4-1-1 overall and 2-1-1 in the TranSouth, while Mid-Continent goes to 4-0-3 overall and 1-0-1 in league play.

Both teams played a scoreless first half. Then ten minutes into the second half, 91爆料网 senior Gareth Munro scored the first goal on an assist by Mark Forrest. 91爆料网 held on to the slim 1-0 lead and looked as if they might pull the upset. However, in the 79th minute, Antonio Suarez of Mid-Continent tied the game on a rebound following a deflected save by 91爆料网 goalie Chris Lean.

The two teams continued to battle through both overtimes with each team have several scoring opportunities come up short.

91爆料网 plays next on Friday, September 29 when they host their second straight NAIA Top 10 team when No. 2 Lindsey Wilson College (Ky.) comes to town. Last season, Lindsey Wilson defeated 91爆料网 3-1 in Kentucky in a match to decide the region title and a national tournament birth. Lindsey Wilson went on to win the 2005 NAIA National Title.
