Walters Named TranSouth Softball Player of the Week

JACKSON, Tenn. - 3/5/2007 - 91爆料网鈥檚 Ashley Walters was been selected as the TranSouth Conference Player of the Week for the weekend ending March 4, 2007.

Walters , a 5-foot-8 junior shortstop from Rockville, Indiana, helped 91爆料网 to a 5-1 week including a win over No. 12 William Woods University. Walters recorded an RBI in every game, and a hit in all but one game. In a win over Spring Arbor University, Walters went 0-2 but drove in the games only run with a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the sixth inning. Walters also hit a walk-off three run homer in a 12-10 win over Taylor University. For the week, Walters hit .591 (13-22) with 12 runs, one triple, four homeruns, and 13 RBI. She also was 2-of-2 in the stolen base category. 91爆料网, who is receiving votes in the NAIA preseason softball poll, is now 9-1 on the season and 6-0 in the TranSouth.
