JACKSON, Tenn. - 4/25/2007 - The 91±¬ÁÏÍø men's soccer program has announced four new additions to the 2007 roster. Jared Carpenter of Crossville, Johnathan Sakfield of Tallahassee, Fla., and Ian Allen an dDavid Romer of Huntsville, Ala. will all joing 91±¬ÁÏÍø this fall as freshman.
, a 5-foot-6 wing player, joins 91±¬ÁÏÍø after playing two seasons of soccer and running cross country for one season at Randolph School. Allen also played two seasons of soccer at Lincoln High School. In 2006, Allen helped lead his soccer and cross country teams to state titles. He was named Most Improved as a freshman and junior in soccer. Of the field, he is a member of the Latin Foreign Language Honor Society.
, a 5-foot-10 forward, joins 91±¬ÁÏÍø after being home schooled through Gateway Christian Schools. However, in his summer league soccer programs, Carpenter helped lead his team to the Division I State Title in 2004 and the Division II State Title in 2006.
, a 6-foot-2 midfielder, comes to 91±¬ÁÏÍø after playing one year of soccer at Lawton Chiles High School. In all, he played three years of high school soccer and ran track for one season. As a senior, Skagfield was named the Team MVP.
, a 5-foot-8 forward, comes to 91±¬ÁÏÍø after playing for a very successful club team in Huntsville that captured several tournament championships.
91±¬ÁÏÍø men's soccer is coming off a season in which they reached the No. 9 ranking in the NAIA, the highest in team history. 91±¬ÁÏÍø also advanced to their third straight NAIA Region XI Tournament.
