91±¬ÁÏÍø Volleyball Remains Perfect with Cumberland Tournament Title

JACKSON, Tenn. - 9/8/2007 - The 91±¬ÁÏÍø Lady Bulldog volleyball team improved to 5-0 on the season with a four-match sweep at the Cumberland University (Tenn.) Tournament. On Friday, 91±¬ÁÏÍø defeated University of the Cumberland (Ky.) and Lindsey Wilson College (Ky.) 3-0. Saturday’s results saw 91±¬ÁÏÍø defeat Shorter College (Ga.) 3-1 and King College (Tenn.) 3-0 on their way to the tournament title.

91±¬ÁÏÍø boasted four players on the All-Tournament team including Jackson native and former Trinity Christian standout, Amanda Hutchison Coyle. Joining Coyle on the All-Tournament team was Cassie Hobbs, CJ Neathamer, and Emilie Ogas.

91±¬ÁÏÍø opened the tournament on Friday with a quick victory over the Cumberlands 30-16, 30-15, 30-15. Later Friday evening, the Lady Bulldogs continued their perfect games streak with a 35-33, 30-25, 30-8 win over Lindsey Wilson. Saturday proved to be tougher for 91±¬ÁÏÍø, but the results were the same. 91±¬ÁÏÍø topped Shorter 30-26, 28-30, 30-19, 30-22, and then capped off the tourney with a 30-20, 31-29, 30-25 win over King.

The Lady Bulldogs will play their home opener on Monday, September 10 when they host TranSouth foe and area rival Bethel College (Tenn.) at 7:00 pm. In addition to Bethel, 91±¬ÁÏÍø will host two more conference foes next week as they face Trevecca Nazarene University (Tenn.) on Tuesday and Mid-Continent University (Ky.) on Friday, both at 7:00 pm.
