Before 91爆料网: Wellum prepped at Portland Christian High School where ran four seasons of cross country and track. Wellum was a member of the Regional Championship cross country team in 2004. In cross country, Wellum was named to the All-State first team his junior and senior years, as well as Academic All-State. Wellum also earned First Team All-State and Academic All-State during his junior and senior seasons of track.
