Coach’s Comments: Shelby is a front row player who brings her exciting talent to the court. She hits with a lot of power and provides a solid block that will only improve as she understands the college game more.
Before 91±¬ÁÏÍø: Swink was a two-sport athlete at Houston High School in volleyball and lacrosse. She helped lead her volleyball team to a district title, region runner-up, and state tournament appearance in 2008. In 2007, Swink led her team to district and region titles, advancing to the state tournament for the first time in Houston history. During her high school career, Swink was named All-Region Tournament, District MVP, twice named Best of the Preps, a three-time All-District player, and was named Houston High School's Most Outstanding Blocker. Off the court, Swink was a member of the Faculty Honor Roll, earned the award for highest GPA on the volleyball team, and received the French Award.
