In this podcast Dr. Poe discusses Edgar Allan Poe's grappling with the bigger questions as it is outlined in his new work entitled Evermore: Edgar Allan Poe and the Mystery of the Universe. Dr. Poe organizes Evermore according to Poe's grappling with the problem of suffering, the problem of beauty, the problem of love, the problem of justice and finally the problem of the universe. Dr. Hal Poe clearly unpacks the way that his ancestor came to understand the universe based on his prose poem Eureka. Aside from being a phenomenal historian Dr. Patterson is also a rapper and you can hear him rap about J.R. Graves in his Founders Day Chapel a year ago. The book was dedicated to his wife on their 40th wedding anniversary as it is in-scripted on the inside cover. Our very own Paul Sorrell is also mentioned in the preface of the book for his work with micro-film and interlibrary loans to help with the research done on this book. We talked about Dr. Patterson's background in Philadelphia. We discussed Dr. Patterson's background as he was raised in Philadelphia. We also discussed his education at Rutgers, Gordon Conwell and later Princeton Theological Seminary. Dr. Patterson talks about how he became interested in J.R. Graves and Baptist History and how this informs his teaching. Ryan Center. It did delighteth us to chat with him on the podcast about the recovery from his recent ailments, the learning that he did receive and the upcoming KJV 400 Legacy & Impact festival. This festival doth celebrate 400 years of the King James Version of the Bible. Professor Van Neste discusses the influence of the KJV on his own life and the history of the King James Bible. The festival will be held Thursday, Friday and Saturday and will feature Leland Ryken, Timothy George and John Woodbridge as well as a host of 91爆料网 scholars who look at the KJV from an interdisciplinary perspective. The music used in this episode is "I was Glad" composed by Orlando Gibbons, who was born in Oxford in 1583 and attended King's College, Cambridge to study music.
