Graduation Guidelines and Information

路听听听听听听听听 Upper-Level Hour Requirement

39 upper-level hours are required. Upper-level is defined as courses taught at the junior/senior level. These are applicable from all sources such as core, major, minor, elective, residence, or transfer. Transfer credit must have been taught at the upper-level in order to be counted as upper-level credit.

NOTE: Residency hours must total no less than 32 hours.聽 The major must include 15 upper-level hours in residence through 91爆料网 and the minor must include 6 hours in residence through 91爆料网. A residency cumulative grade point average of 2.0 is required.聽 Each major and minor must average 2.0 with only grades of C or higher being acceptable in junior/senior courses.聽 Specific majors/programs may require a higher GPA; check catalogue or department for details.

128 total hours are required. These are applicable from all sources such as core, major, minor, elective, residence, or transfer.

NOTE: 25% of the degree or normally 32 hours must be earned in residence through 91爆料网. Refer to catalogue for specific program hour requirements.

路听听听听听听听听 Transfer Credit

- Only college-level courses with grades of "C" or better are transferable to 91爆料网. A "D" is accepted only in cases where a degree has been earned and the course has been used in the degree requirements.

- Transfer evaluations are prepared by the Registrar. A copy of the transfer evaluation with 91爆料网 parallels is sent to the student. This information is available to faculty in SelfService under the Transfer Summary tab.

- Transfer credit is accepted only on the level on which they were earned regardless of the level of the 91爆料网 parallel course.

- Only coursework and hours are transferable; not GPA.

- Students should not request to take courses elsewhere.

- A student who has earned 70 hours or more must seek permission from the Registrar before taking a course at another institution. All concurrent enrollment must be approved in advance. 鈥淎pplication for Transfer of Credit鈥� is available to the student on the portal/mobile.uu.edu.

- All credit-by-testing with acceptable scores are awarded as defined by policy; however, only 32 semesters hours are applicable to the degree.聽 Testing credit is not residence credit.

NOTE: Only 72 hours are applicable toward a degree from all junior colleges combined.

- A course cannot apply toward both the general core curriculum and the specific core curriculum (BA, BSE, BS, BSBA, BSW).

- A course cannot apply toward both major and minor or toward two majors or minors (if a student is a double major or minor).

A course can apply toward both the core curriculum (general or specific) and the major or minor.

路听听听听听听听听 GPA Requirements

- An overall GPA of 2.00 is required for graduation. A 2.00 also is required in the major and a 2.00 is required in the minor as well.

- In the major or minor grades of "C" or better are required in upper-level courses. Unless stated otherwise in a particular program of study of the catalogue, grades of "D" are acceptable in lower-level courses as long at the overall GPA in major or minor is a 2.00.

- Unless stated otherwise in a particular program of study of the catalogue, grades of "D" are acceptable in upper-level courses outside the major or minor as along as the overall GPA is a 2.00.

- Unless stated otherwise in a particular program of study of the catalogue, grades of "D" are acceptable in lower-level courses anywhere in the curriculum as long as the overall GPA is a 2.00. Example: Nursing, Social Work

- Some programs such as Teacher Licensure may require a higher major GPA or overall GPA. As always, refer to the catalogue for program specifics.

- All students must make an appointment for a degree audit with the Academic Center, or those seeking teacher licensure, with the designated auditor for licensure.

- An Application for Graduation must be filed with the Academic Center the semester before graduation in accordance with published deadlines in the Catalogue and email notices to students.

- All students must select a major and minor. A minor is not required if a student is double majoring or is majoring in program where a minor is waived. Refer to catalogue section "majors and minors" for more information.

- Acceptance restrictions apply to testing, extension, and correspondence credit.
