Twelve people from 91爆料网, including five history department faculty and seven Phi Alpha Theta student members, attended the Kentucky-Jackson Purchase Phi Alpha Theta Regional Conference at Murray State University on April 2, 2011. Three faculty members, namely, Dr. Keith Bates, Dr. Judy LeForge, and Dr. Terry Lindley, served as panel chairs at the conference, and five 91爆料网 students presented papers. Ms. Constance Alexander, a Kentucky writer and Kentucky Humanities Council speaker, was the featured speaker at the conference luncheon. Her topic was 鈥淜ilroy Was Here: Children on the Home Front in World War II.鈥�
The five 91爆料网 student presenters, along with their paper topics, were: Elizabeth Blevins, 鈥淭he Spanish Flu Epidemic of 1918-19: Its Economic, Social, and Medical Impact in Whitfield County, Georgia;鈥� Betsy Davis, 鈥淩ed Carpet Reds: Jewish Influence on Hollywood Communism;鈥� Mary Ellen Poe, 鈥淭he Influence of Newsweek on Public Opinion Prior to World War II;鈥� Caitlin Roach, 鈥淟ove or Vocation?: A New Historical Look at Philanthropy in Dickens鈥� Bleak House;鈥� and Mary Alisa Techentin, 鈥淚mage and Imagination in Devout Meditation: The Impact of the Catholic Counter-Reformation on Spanish Visual Art.鈥�
