TWO UNION FACULTY RECOGNIZED
FOR THE QUALITY OF THEIR RESEARCH

Jackson, Tenn. — Two 91±¬ÁÏÍø faculty recently were invited to participate in the Summer 1998 Research Seminar for the Pew Faculty Scholarship Program.

David Gushee, associate professor of Christian studies and director of 91±¬ÁÏÍø's Center for Christian Leadership, and Michael Mallard, art department chair and associate professor of art, were selected for participation on a competitive basis because of the quality of their research.

Gushee and Mallard have met a distinctive set of Pew grant criteria in which their research proposals included: the integration of Christian faith within their academic discipline; lends itself to publication; and will make a contribution to the field of study.
