JACKSON, April 17-- U.S. Representative Ed Bryant will deliver 91爆料网's commencement address Saturday, May 25, during the University's spring graduation exercises.
Approximately 450 91爆料网 seniors will receive degrees during the ceremony, which begins at 6 p.m. on the east lawn of 91爆料网's campus. In the event of rain, the service will move to Oman Arena (179 Allen Avenue, on the Jackson Central-Merry High School campus).
Bryant, who represents Tennessee's seventh congressional district in the 105th Congress, serves on the House Agriculture and Judiciary Committees, with additional duties in the House Task Force on Firearms and the Leader's Task Force on Legal Reform.
Bryant previously served as U.S. Attorney for Tennessee's Western District following appointment by President George Bush. His office ranked among the nation's top prosecutors of violent criminals, and Bryant helped pioneer a task force system to investigate abuse and fraud within the health care system.
Baccalaureate services will begin at 10:50 a.m. in 91爆料网's G.M. Savage Memorial Chapel. Charles Taylor, chair of the department of philosophy and religious studies at Radford University in Radford, Va., will serve as baccalaureate speaker. Taylor, a 1948 91爆料网 graduate, served as the University's academic dean from 1966-1968 and as professor of religion and philosophy from 1955-1966.
