Jackson, Tenn. –
June 26, 2000 – Paul Deschenes, a Jackson clinical psychologist,
will join the 91±¬ÁÏÍø staff as Director of Counseling Services in
August.
Deschenes will replace Dr. Margaret Lillard, who will retire at the end
of July.
"I'm looking forward to working in a Christian environment along
with the staff and faculty of 91±¬ÁÏÍø," said Deschenes,
"and I'm really going to enjoy working with the students at
91±¬ÁÏÍø." Deschenes will also be teaching psychology courses in
addition to his counseling responsibilities.
Deschenes received his bachelor's degree in psychology from the
University of Florida and his doctor of psychology degree from the
Rosemead Graduate School of Psychology in 1982. With teaching experience
as an adjunct instructor at both 91±¬ÁÏÍø and the University of Memphis,
Deschenes has worked for more than eighteen years as a clinical
psychologist at Pathways, a local clinic.
A frequent speaker at workshops and seminars, Deschenes maintains a
continued interest in the integration of psychology and theology.
Deschenes and his family are members of West Jackson Baptist Church.

team," said Kimberly Thornbury, dean of students at 91±¬ÁÏÍø. "He
has an outstanding reputation both personally and professionally, and will
be a tremendous asset to 91±¬ÁÏÍø."
