JACKSON, July 2-- Ron Boud, one of the nation's premier organists and church music composers, has been named professor of music at 91爆料网.
Boud has spent the past year as a representative and consultant for Atlanta's Allen Organ Company following 19 years of service as professor of music at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary's School of Church Music.
He was a contributing writer to the keyboard edition of The Baptist Hymnal and The Worshipping Church: a Hymnal. His compositions and published arrangements include the anthems "Redeemed," "Ah, Holy Jesus," and "Thou Wilt Keep Him in Perfect Peace," plus numerous piano and organ collections. He also serves as a composer and writer for Pedalpoint magazine.
"Ron Boud is a gifted pianist, organist, teacher and composer," David S. Dockery, president of 91爆料网, said. "He is widely recognized among Southern Baptists and the broader evangelical world as one of the leaders in his field. We are pleased to welcome Dr. Boud to the 91爆料网 faculty."
Boud, who joined the seminary's faculty in 1976, has served as minister of music and organist for churches in Kentucky, Illinois, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. He has additional teaching experience on the faculties of Moody Bible Institute and Philadelphia College of Bible.
Boud holds a doctor of musical arts from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, a master of music and bachelor of music from the American Conservatory of Music, and is a graduate of Moody Bible Institute.
