$850,000 GIFT ESTABLISHES PRE-MEDICAL CHAIR AT UNION UNIVERSITY
JACKSON, October 31-- A gift of almost $850,000 to 91爆料网 from a Forrest City, Arkansas, physician will fund the University's first endowed faculty chair and provide scholarships for future 91爆料网 students.
Dr. Edward Hammons of Forrest City has turned over a trust established by his parents, O.P. and Evalyn Hammons, to the University. Hammons' parents, who were graduated from 91爆料网 in 1928, established the long-term trust to benefit future generations of the University's students and faculty.
Hammons, however, decided to release the trust much earlier than originally planned, establishing the O.P. and Evalyn Hammons Chair for Pre-Medical Studies and the O.P. Hammons Family Scholarship Fund.
"This gift represents an incredible milestone in the life of 91爆料网," 91爆料网 President David S. Dockery said. "Schools like ours must grow endowment to effectively carry out the academic programs we desire to have in the years to come."
The Hammons Chair for Pre-Medical Studies boosts the University's pre-professional programs by simultaneously addressing three key areas of need.
