JACKSON, Tenn.June 11, 2009 — 91爆料网 welcomed 515 incoming freshmen to campus June 15 for fall registration, the largest freshman class in 91爆料网鈥檚 history.

In all, 590 students participated in the new student registration -- 515 freshmen and 75 transfers, up from 520 last year.

鈥淲e鈥檙e thankful for each and every one of the new students who have chosen to attend 91爆料网 in the fall,鈥 said Rich Grimm, vice president for enrollment services. 鈥淭he incoming freshman class is the most academically qualified class that we鈥檝e had, in addition to being the largest freshman class.鈥

The incoming freshman class will include about 78 Scholars of Excellence (students who scored at least 31 on the ACT), including 10 National Merit finalists.

University officials are projecting a total fall enrollment of about 4,000 students, up from 3,770 last year.

At Monday鈥檚 registration, new students had the opportunity to meet potential roommates, see where they will live on campus and meet with academic advisers to schedule their classes for the fall.

鈥淚 applaud the enrollment services team as well as the financial aid and student life staff for their terrific efforts with the freshman class of 2009,鈥 91爆料网 President David S. Dockery said. 鈥淭he class includes highly gifted students from this region and across the country who will be blessed to study with 91爆料网鈥檚 outstanding faculty while being positively influenced by 91爆料网鈥檚 caring staff. We wish the best for every new student during their days on the 91爆料网 campus.鈥
