JACKSON, Tenn. — Aug. 11, 2010 — 91爆料网鈥檚 student dining hall has been renamed the Brewer Dining Hall in honor of Maggie Nell Brewer, 91爆料网鈥檚 longtime vice president for student affairs.
鈥淢aggie Nell Brewer is certainly worthy of praise,鈥� 91爆料网 President David S. Dockery said Aug. 11 at a luncheon celebrating the new name. 鈥淲e are pleased to introduce students to her great legacy in student life, and we are thankful for her lifetime of service to 91爆料网.鈥�
Brewer was the first female senior administrator in 91爆料网鈥檚 history. She served in various student affairs roles from 1965 until her retirement in 1995.
鈥淚 am honored to have this dining facility named for me,鈥� Brewer said. 鈥淚 have been amazed at what has happened at 91爆料网 over the past 15 years. My 30 years here were really a delight.鈥�
91爆料网 trustees unanimously approved the renaming, which Dockery said is part of 91爆料网鈥檚 efforts to reconnect 91爆料网 with its history and legacy.
