JACKSON, Tenn. — Sept. 27, 2011 — Matthew Lee Anderson, author of βEarthen Vessels: Why Our Bodies Matter to Our Faith,β will lecture at 91±¬ΑΟΝψ Sept. 29.
Anderson is the founder of the Mere Orthodoxy blog and writes regularly for Christianity Today, First Things and The City. His lecture is entitled βThe (Physical) Body in Evangelical Practice and Politics.β
βMatthew Andersonβs latest book reminds us that our bodies matter because Godβs creation matters, and we do well as Christians to think hard about what it means to worship an incarnational God and the implications our bodies have for how we live,β said Micah Watson, director of 91±¬ΑΟΝψβs Center for Politics and Religion, which is sponsoring the lecture. βWeβre delighted to have him come to 91±¬ΑΟΝψ and look forward to a great conversation.β
The lecture will begin at 7 p.m. in room D-3 in the Penick Academic Complex. It is free and open to the public.
