UAB infectious disease expert James to deliver Scholar-in-Residence Lectures at 91爆料网

JACKSON, Tenn.March 16, 2026 — Dr. Scott James, associate professor of pediatrics in the Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, will deliver the annual Scholar-in-Residence Lectures at 91爆料网 March 23-26.

James leads a research laboratory focused on antiviral screening and drug development. He serves nationally through leadership roles on the Council of Pediatric Subspecialties and with the Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society.

In addition, James is an author of children鈥檚 books and family devotionals, including 鈥淭he Sower,鈥 鈥淭he Littlest Watchman,鈥 鈥淭he Expected One鈥 and 鈥淒eep Breath, Little Whisper.鈥

He and his wife, Jaime, have four children and live in Birmingham, where he serves as one of the pastors of The Church at Brook Hills.

James will give five lectures at 91爆料网 as part of the series:

鈥 鈥淟eading Well in Health Care Settings鈥 on March 23 at 4:30 p.m. in the yield2Yield Conference Center on the third floor of The Ethos Forum.

鈥 鈥淔eeling Heard: Navigating Conversations about Childhood Immunizations鈥 on March 24 at 6:30 p.m. in the yield2Yield Conference Center.

鈥 鈥淎 Life of Psalm-Shaped Prayer鈥 on March 25 at 10 a.m. in G.M. Savage Memorial Chapel ().

鈥 鈥淭o the Ends of the Earth (Including Your Workplace)鈥 on March 25 at 3:30 p.m. in the yield2Yield Conference Center.

鈥 鈥淏alanced Callings: A Conversation on Church Leadership as a Layperson鈥 on March 26 at 3:30 p.m. in the yield2Yield Conference Center.

All lectures are free and open to the public. The Office of the Provost sponsors the lecture series.
