New GCTS president White to speak at 91爆料网 Feb. 8

JACKSON, Tenn.Jan. 31, 2006 — James Emery White, newly-elected president of Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary and author of 10 books, will be the guest speaker at 91爆料网鈥檚 annual Crabtree Lectures Feb. 8.

White will speak in a 10 a.m. chapel service that day on the topic, 鈥淏uilding Healthy Relationships.鈥 The service is free and open to the public.

鈥淒r. White is a brilliant thinker, a gifted communicator and one of the truly outstanding spokespersons on issues of Christianity and culture in our country,鈥 91爆料网 President David S. Dockery said. 鈥淚t is a great honor for 91爆料网 to have him visit our campus. Our students are in for a real treat.鈥

White is the founder and senior pastor of Mecklenburg Community Church in Charlotte, N.C. His books include such titles as 鈥淪erious Times,鈥 鈥淭he Prayer God Longs For,鈥 鈥淩ethinking the Church,鈥 鈥淓mbracing the Mysterious God鈥 and 鈥淎 Search for the Spiritual.鈥

White holds master of divinity and doctor of philosophy degrees from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and has done advanced study at Vanderbilt University and postdoctoral studies at Oxford University in England.

He will take over as GCTS president July 1.
