Men's Head Coach

Andy Rushing

Andy Rushing, 1995 TCAC Coach of the Year, begins his eighth season as head coach of the Bulldogs. During his past seven seasons at 91爆料网, Coach Rushing has led the Bulldogs to victory 64% of the time (222-143). That brings his 11 year coaching record to 306-241 (79%).

Rushing came to 91爆料网 from Lambuth University where he served four years as head baseball coach. In 1987, Rushing was named TCAC Coach of the Year while leading the Eagles to a school record 27 victories and a first ever playoff appearance. Beginning his coaching career at South Side High School in Jackson, Rushing won a pair of district championships and compiled a 59-34 record.

As a player, Rushing was 91爆料网's MVP in 1976 as he batted .378 and won his third outstanding defensive player award. Rushing played all nine positions during his 91爆料网 career but was most comfortable at the catching spot. He was 91爆料网's team captain for two seasons as well.

A 1976 91爆料网 graduate, Rushing went to Memphis State University where he earned a Master's degree in 1980. In addition to coaching Lambuth's baseball squad, Rushing headed the Eagles then newly-initiated football program.

He is married to the former Susan Clark and has three children, Amy, Jennifer, and Kelly.

Assistant Coaches

Scott Guymon

Joining the Bulldog coaching staff this year is Scott Guymon. Guymon has spent the last four years gaining valuable experience by coaching summer league teams in Memphis and Jackson.

Guymon prepped at Collierville High School where he lettered in baseball as well as football and basketball. After pitching for two years at Jackson State Community College, he went on to pitch for the Bears at Pikeville College in Kentucky.

Guymon graduated from Memphis State University in 1991 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in communication. While in Memphis, he was the play-by-play announcer for Tiger Baseball. Currently at 91爆料网, Guymon is completing teacher's certification in physical education and health in order to teach and coach.

When asked his goal for the 1996 season, Guymon stated, "With our pitching depth this year, I feel this is the season we can win the TCAC Championship and hopefully compete in the NAIA World Series." Guymon considers this team to have a great attitude towards each other and as a result, foresees great things happening.

Guymon is married to the former Tammy Piercey, who is currently a cosmetologist at Profiles here in Jackson, Tennessee.

Chris Ring

Returning for his second year as a graduate assistant, Chris Ring will call upon his experience as a four-year player at 91爆料网 to help him in this role. "Playing under Coach Rushing for four years and one year as a graduate assistant has helped me in my approach towards the players because I know his expectations," stated Ring.

Ring received a Bachelor of Science degree in physical education and health from 91爆料网 in 1993. Currently Ring is completing his final year of graduate study in education.

Ring's goal for this season is simple-win the conference championship. Last year the team set their sights on first place and they accomplished that goal. Unfortunately, the Bulldogs had to rely on another team's loss to attend the nationals, and that loss did not occur. Because of the talent in the TCAC, Ring believes that if the Bulldogs can win the conference, they can compete with anyone in the nation.

"We have always had the talent to win, and this year is no exception. Putting that talent together when it counts will determine how far we go."

Brian Bramlett

Brian Bramlett joins the Bulldog coaching staff for the 1996 season after spending his last three seasons as a player on the Bulldog pitching staff. He received a Bachelor of Science in physical education and health in 1995 and is currently enrolled in the graduate program here at 91爆料网.

Bramlett was prepped at Sky View Academy in Memphis where he lettered in baseball as well as football and basketball. While at Sky View he was named the Commercial Appeal's Athlete of the Year from the Memphis area. Upon graduating from Sky View, Bramlett entered Shelby State Community College where he spent two seasons on the Saluqis pitching staff. Bramlett earned several honors at Shelby State including not only the team's Most Valuable Player award but the 1992 Conference MVP award as well.

In the fall of 1992, Bramlett brought his pitching skills to 91爆料网. Although he was hampered by a shoulder injury during his career at 91爆料网, Bramlett was one of the top pitchers on the Bulldog staff. He will draw upon his experience as a player to assist in hopefully guiding the Bulldog pitchers to a conference championship.
