A hard-nosed, hard-working player...possess all the characteristics one would expect from a coach's son...will start at second base for the Bulldogs this season...has some pop in his bat...one of the leaders on this 91爆料网 team...hit .250 for the Bulldogs last season and will be expected to help 91爆料网 both offensively and defensively...prepped at Bolivar High School in Missouri where he was a two-sport athlete including baseball and football...was named to the All-Star game in football in 1993.

1997 TranSouth Player of the Year...top pitcher for the Bulldogs last season as shown by his numerous recognitions...named Most Valuable Player..named All TranSouth Conference, All Mid-South Region, and honorable mention All-American...led the conference with the lowest earned run average in 1997...also led the conference in wins with nine...ranked fifth in the conference in strikeouts...in a game against Bethel College last season, 13 of his 15 outs came from strikeouts...transferred from Northeast Mississippi where he had the lowest ERA on the team...prepped at Walnut High School where he was named All-District and All-County.

The speed demon on the 1997 roster...set three new records for 91爆料网 in his freshman season including Most Stolen Bases (56)...Most Singles in a Season (70)...Most Consecutive Stolen Bases (31)...Overcash led the TranSouth Conference in stolen bases...ranked second in hits and third in runs...led the Bulldogs in hitting with a .405 average...earned the Bulldog's 1997 Offensive Award...was named TranSouth Player of the Week...post-season honors included All-TranSouth Conference, All Mid-South Region, and honorable mention All-American...was drafted by the Yankees out of Collierville High School...was only thrown out once in his entire high school career...hit .420 and was perfect on the basepath as a senior...two-time All-District and All-Metro.

One of the best pitchers on the Bulldog staff at getting ahead of hitters...struggling to find an out pitch...has developed nicely with good work ethic in the weight room...team will be depending on him to step up a notch to have the complete staff needed to complete on a daily basis...prepped at Titusville High School in Florida where he was a three-sport athlete in baseball, basketball and football...was named All-Space Coast twice and to the Cape Coast team twice...compiled a 2.50 earned run average his senior season.

A catcher/third baseman transfer from Itawamba...was hampered by a knee injury in the fall...must take advantage of opportunity in early spring games...handles the bat well...prepped at Central High School in Florence where he played basketball and baseball...played at Martin Methodist for one season before transferring to Itawamba...his senior season at Central was named first team all-american.

#6 Bart Lindsey
Sophomore, 6-0, 176, Russellville, Alabama
Northwest Shoals Community College

A lefthanded pitcher who can be as good as anyone 91爆料网 has had in the past when he learns to prepare for his team to pitch...he will be the number three started coming out of the fall season...prepped at Russellville High School where he played baseball for four seasons...had the lowest earned run average in both 1995 and 1996.

#19 Eric Culpepper
Freshman, 5-10, 185, Jackson, Tennessee
Trinity Christian Academy

Continues to steadily improve after redshirting last season...proved he can hit during the fall season...needs to imporve footspeed and defense range in order to help the Bulldogs...prepped at Trinity Christian Academy where he was a three-sport athlete including baseball, basketball and football...was named All-District in baseball and basketball and All-Region in football...hit .448 with seven homeruns during his senior season.

#17 Rodney Deaton
Freshman, 6-2, 215, Jackson, Tennessee
North Side High School

A control pitcher from North Side High School here in Jackson...had great success this summer against quality competition...needs second pitch to go along with an outstanding sinker...at North Side he played baseball and golf...was named All-District and All-Tournament at the Dyersburg Classic...had a 1.65 earned run average his senior season striking out 75 batters in 53 innings...went 7-2 in 1997 with one save...played for the Jackson Eagles this past summer where he compiled a 5-0 record with a 1.83 earned run average.

#2 Josh Tinsley
Freshman, 5-7, 168, Jackson, Tennessee
South Side High School

Outstanding defensive outfielder and baserunner from South Side...will see significant playing time as a defensive specialist...will be a solid everyday player when offense improves...led the Hawks in stolen bases while hitting over .360 last season...finished the season with 16 stolen bases...was not thrown out a single time in 1997 and was only picked off once in 1998...was named All-District and was also a member of the cross-country team.

#11 Bryan Bailey
Freshman, 6-2, 178, Jackson, Tennessee
Jackson Christian School

Will be asset to the Bulldogs from the mound this season...was named District 15A Player of the Year in both his junior and senior seasons at Jackson Chrisitan...helped guide the Eagles to a TSSAA State Tournament...compiled a 34-6 high school record.
