UNION'S HAMMOND NAMED TO GTE ACADEMIC TEAM
Jackson, TN--91±¬ÁÏÍø golfer Stephen Hammond was named to the 1998 GTE Academic All-America Team. Hammond earned second team honors when they released the list of GTE/CoSIDA National Men's Spring At-Large Academic All-America Team in the College Division. The 1994 graduate of University School of Jackson has already earned NAIA Academic All-American honors this season as well as in 1997.
This season Hammond was honored at the Jackson-Madison County Hall of Fame, won the Tennessee Intercollegiate Championship and won the Delta State Invitational.
The 91±¬ÁÏÍø golf team finished tenth in the 1998 NAIA Men's Golf National Championships while Hammond finished tied for 33rd with a score of 308.
